Myanmar

Burma, officially the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, or Myanmar for short, is a southeast Asian country located along the coastline of the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea, and bordered by China, Thailand, Laos, India and Bangladesh.

Myanmar, a holy land reputed as the Kingdom of Buddhism, is with a time-honored history and splendid culture. It is one of the most devout Buddhist countries in the world that follows Buddhism for over 2500 years; convinced Buddhists built stupas on and on from time immemorial that now you can see Buddhist stupas everywhere throughout the country. These sparkling stupas under the golden sun have blessed this beautiful land and its people for thousands of years.

No matter in its largest city Yangon, or in the ancient city Mandalay, or on the Buddhists’ holy land Bagan, travel in Myanmar is to encounter mild and warm men wearing skirt-like longyi, women using thanakha for makeup and monks leisurely teaching their cats to jump. Get on a bike to get around, climb up a stupa to watch the beautiful sunrise, wait the romantic sunset on Ubein Bridge, ride a horse cart to go through colonial-era buildings,  boat on the scenic Inle Lake, just take your time to enjoy the perfect combination of magnificent architecture with the nature, and this kind of serenity only find in Myanmar. The country is like a world apart that will make your heart full when you leave it.
